Refunds
Refund Policy
Coaching is a two-year commitment. This policy is written so nobody feels trapped if it isn't working — and so the promise we make about refunds is legible before you pay, not after.
The 7-day cool-off — full refund, no questions
For any programme longer than 3 months, you get an unconditional 7-day cool-off starting from your first attended class. If TCR isn't what you expected — for any reason — request a refund inside those 7 days and you get 100%back, less only Razorpay's gateway fee (~2%) which Razorpay does not return to us.
If you haven't attended your first class yet, the 7-day window starts on the batch start date — not the payment date. So booking early doesn't shorten your window.
After 7 days — a sliding scale
Refunds after the cool-off are calculated on the base fee (excluding any coupon discount):
- Day 8 to 30: 75% refund
- Day 31 to 90: 50% refund
- Day 91 onwards: refunds are on a case-by-case basis — usually only in exceptional circumstances (medical, family emergency). Contact Shivam directly.
We're small. If your case is exceptional, tell us — we'd rather do the right thing than hide behind a policy.
How to request a refund
- Email support@tcredu.com from the same address you enrolled with, with subject line “Refund request — [order ID]”.
- We reply within 2 working days with the calculated refund amount and confirmation.
- On your approval, the refund is initiated to the original payment method via Razorpay.
- Refunds typically land in 5–7 working days depending on your bank.
What is not refundable
- Programmes shorter than 3 months (crash courses, sprints) — payment is final
- Section-only programmes (e.g. Legal-only sprint) — payment is final
- Physical materials already shipped — cost of materials + shipping is deducted
- Fees for services already availed at 100% (mock analysis, 1:1 sessions) — deducted proportionally
- Amounts paid via non-refundable EMI — the EMI stops at the refund date, but the interest already accrued is not refunded (that's your bank's policy, not ours)
Transfers instead of refunds
If a programme isn't working but you still want to continue with TCR, you can transfer to a different programme, mode, or batch within 90 days of joining — free of any transfer fee, subject only to the fee difference (positive or negative) between the two programmes.
You can also defer your enrolment to the next cycle, once, at no cost.
If TCR ends your enrolment
In the rare case that TCR terminates a student's enrolment for serious misconduct (per the Terms), no refund is due. In every other case — programme cancelled by TCR, faculty change, batch dissolution — the student receives a full refund on a pro-rata basis for classes not delivered.
Payment gateway fees
Razorpay charges a small transaction fee (approximately 2% for cards, 0% for UPI). On refunds, this fee is not returned by Razorpay to TCR, so it is not returned to you either. This isn't a TCR margin — it's a cost we both eat.
If we disagree
If the refund calculation feels wrong, ask Shivam to review it personally. His email is above. If after that review it still feels wrong, disputes are handled per our Terms & Conditions — arbitration first, courts of New Delhi as a last resort.
