Most Delhi institutes sell AILET as an add-on to a CLAT course. That is the mistake. AILET gives you ninety minutes for a hundred and fifty questions; CLAT gives you two hours for a hundred and twenty. Those are not the same exam with different branding, and a student trained only on CLAT pacing will run out of clock.

Why AILET needs separate preparation from CLAT
CLAT rewards patient comprehension. You are given long passages and enough time to read them properly, so the winning behaviour is careful, unhurried inference. AILET rewards the opposite instinct: recognise the pattern, commit, move. The paper is denser, the clock is shorter, and hesitation is more expensive than a wrong answer.
Students who prepare for both — which is most serious NLU aspirants — have to hold two different exam temperaments and switch between them on demand. That switch is trainable, but only if somebody deliberately trains it. Our AILET track runs its own mock calendar at AILET timing rather than reusing CLAT papers with the clock turned down.

NLU Delhi is a single-seat decision
NLU Delhi does not accept CLAT. It admits through AILET alone, which means a student who prepares only for CLAT has quietly removed one of India's strongest law schools from their list. It also means the AILET applicant pool is self-selecting and small relative to CLAT, so the marginal return on dedicated preparation is unusually high.
We are candid with students about this in counselling. If NLU Delhi is genuinely your first choice, the AILET track should be your primary commitment and CLAT the parallel attempt, not the other way round. That ordering changes which mocks you prioritise and how you spend the final eight weeks.

Can I get into NLU Delhi through CLAT?
No. NLU Delhi runs its own entrance, AILET, and does not accept CLAT scores for its 5-year programme. If NLU Delhi is on your list you must sit AILET specifically, which is why we run both tracks in parallel rather than treating AILET as optional.
Should I prepare for CLAT and AILET together?
Yes, for almost every candidate — the syllabus overlaps heavily and sitting both roughly doubles your chances of an NLU seat. What must be separated is pacing practice. Decide early which exam is your primary target, because that determines which mock calendar leads and how the final two months are spent.
