CLAT Previous Year Papers

The Consortium publishes the question paper and the final answer key for each cycle on its own site, along with the notifications that define that year's pattern. Because CLAT's structure has changed more than once, a paper from an older pattern is still useful for reasoning practice but misleading for pacing practice.

Use official papers for calibration and treat third-party compilations as supplementary. Coaching-authored mocks vary enormously in how faithfully they reproduce the real paper's difficulty curve.

Most students finish a past paper, check the score, feel briefly good or briefly bad, and move to the next one. That loop can be repeated for months without the score moving, because nothing in it identifies why the marks were lost.

The version that works is slower. Sit the paper under real conditions with a real clock. Then, before looking at the key, revisit every question you were unsure about and write down what you were unsure about. Only then mark it, and sort every wrong answer into a cause: misread the passage, misapplied the rule, ran out of time, or genuinely did not know.

By the fourth or fifth paper, the causes stop being random. Nearly every student has three or four recurring failure modes, and they are usually reasoning habits rather than knowledge gaps — assuming a fact the passage did not state, or committing to an answer before finishing the options.

An error log makes those visible and a mentor makes them fixable. This is precisely what our weekly one-to-one mock review does, and it is the reason we cap batch sizes: reading a student's paper properly takes time that scales with attention, not with technology.
