TCR – From The Court Room to A Brand by NLU Alumnus
Why TCR changed its name, what the new identity means, and how the same TCR continues to build specialised academic verticals for CLAT, AILET, CUET, AIBE and Legal Studies.
There is a story behind the three letters TCR.
For years, many students knew us as:
TCR – The Court Room
Today, our identity is:
TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus
If you've recently discovered TCR through a Google search, YouTube, Instagram, an older article, a student profile or one of our previous programmes, you may encounter both names.
So we want to make something very clear:
TCR – The Court Room and TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus are not two different organisations.
The Court Room was TCR's earlier identity.
TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus is our current identity.
The three letters remain the same.
The people, journey and academic purpose remain connected.
What has changed is the way we define what TCR can become.
Why did TCR change its name?
The short answer is simple:
TCR grew beyond the meaning of “The Court Room.”
When TCR began, the name The Court Room represented where we were starting.
It was strongly associated with legal education and law entrance preparation.
And that made sense.
Our early academic focus was closely connected to examinations such as:
CLAT AILET law entrance examinations legal reasoning legal education
But as TCR developed, our academic ecosystem expanded.
We began working with students preparing for different examinations and different educational pathways.
Today, TCR has dedicated academic verticals covering areas such as:
CLAT UG AILET UG CUET UG AIBE Legal Studies for Classes 11 & 12
And that created an important question:
Should the identity of the entire organisation continue to be defined by one particular interpretation of TCR?
We decided that it shouldn't.
TCR was bigger than one room.
The name The Court Room described our beginning.
But TCR was the identity students remembered.
Three letters.
Simple.
Recognisable.
Flexible.
And we realised that those three letters could grow with the organisation.
TCR can mean:
The Court Room
The CLAT Room
The CUET Room
The Class Room
And potentially many other academic spaces in the future.
The important thing is not which three words we use to expand TCR.
The important thing is:
What TCR stands for. Why “A Brand by NLU Alumnus”?
This is the second and more important part of the change.
We wanted the new identity to communicate the perspective behind TCR.
TCR was built from the experience of people who have themselves gone through competitive law entrance preparation and the journey into national law universities.
That experience shapes how we think about education.
Competitive examination preparation isn't simply about completing a syllabus.
Students have to deal with:
changing examination patterns; competition; mock-test pressure; rankings; time management; uncertainty; choosing the right resources; deciding what to study; understanding university options; and balancing preparation with school.
We wanted our identity to communicate that perspective.
Hence:
A Brand by NLU Alumnus.
It tells students something about where the perspective behind TCR comes from.
Did TCR become a different organisation? No.
This is perhaps the most important thing we want existing students to understand.
A rebrand does not mean that TCR – The Court Room disappeared and an unrelated organisation appeared in its place.
The identity evolved. The organisation continued.
Think of it as a progression:
TCR – The Court Room
↓
TCR
↓
TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus
The three letters connect the entire journey.
What happens to everything students already know about TCR?
This is particularly important in the digital age.
The internet remembers.
Search engines remember old pages.
YouTube remembers old videos.
Students keep old screenshots.
Other websites publish articles.
Students write reviews.
Social media posts remain online.
Old PDFs can continue circulating.
And therefore, even after a brand changes its identity, the previous name doesn't magically disappear from the internet.
You may still encounter:
TCR – The Court Room
or
TCR The Court Room
or older references to TCR's previous programmes.
That's okay.
We aren't trying to erase our history.
We are trying to connect our history with our current identity.
If you searched for “TCR The Court Room”…
…and reached this page, you are still in the right place.
TCR – The Court Room was our former identity. TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus is our current identity.
This is the same TCR journey.
The change is intentional.
And going forward, TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus is the identity we want students, parents, universities and the wider education ecosystem to associate with us.
What does TCR mean today?
Today, TCR is designed to operate as a broader education brand with specialised academic verticals.
That distinction is important.
We don't believe that every examination should be taught using exactly the same methodology.
CLAT isn't AILET.
AILET isn't CUET.
CUET isn't AIBE.
Legal Studies isn't an entrance examination.
Each requires a different academic approach.
So while the TCR brand remains common, the academic verticals can remain specialised.
TCR for CLAT
Our CLAT vertical focuses on CLAT UG preparation, including:
Legal Reasoning Logical Reasoning English Current Affairs & GK Quantitative Techniques PYQs mock tests exam strategy time management personalised preparation
Students searching for:
CLAT coaching
CLAT coaching in Delhi
Best CLAT coaching in Delhi
CLAT coaching in East Delhi
CLAT coaching in Laxmi Nagar
CLAT coaching in Mayur Vihar
can discover the TCR CLAT ecosystem through this dedicated vertical.
The goal is not simply to call ourselves “the best.”
The goal is to build the kind of preparation system that students associate with the best CLAT coaching experience. TCR for AILET
AILET requires a different preparation strategy.
It has its own examination structure, question distribution, time pressure and competitive environment.
Therefore, TCR's AILET preparation is treated as its own academic focus.
Students looking for:
AILET coaching
AILET coaching in Delhi
AILET preparation
AILET coaching in South Delhi
AILET coaching in East Delhi
AILET preparation for NLU Delhi
should be able to find a dedicated TCR AILET ecosystem rather than simply another generic CLAT programme.
TCR for CUET
This is another important part of why we changed our identity.
CUET is not simply a side course added to a law coaching institute.
TCR's CUET segment is a separately focused academic vertical.
It has its own:
CUET-focused faculty; preparation strategy; curriculum; subject guidance; practice; PYQs; mock-test approach; university and programme guidance; student mentorship.
Our CUET faculty include DU alumni, bringing a different university-oriented perspective to CUET preparation.
This allows TCR to build a dedicated CUET identity rather than simply placing CUET alongside CLAT as another course.
Students searching for:
CUET coaching
CUET coaching in Delhi
CUET preparation
CUET UG coaching
CUET coaching in South Delhi
CUET coaching in East Delhi
CUET online coaching
can therefore find a dedicated TCR CUET ecosystem.
TCR for AIBE
AIBE is a different examination again.
It is designed for law graduates and requires a preparation approach appropriate to legal subjects, Bare Acts, previous-year questions and examination strategy.
Therefore, TCR's AIBE vertical is independently focused on:
AIBE preparation; legal subjects; Bare Acts; PYQs; practice questions; mock tests; examination strategy; legal examination guidance.
Students searching for:
AIBE coaching
AIBE coaching in Delhi
AIBE classes in Delhi
AIBE preparation
AIBE online coaching
can access a dedicated TCR AIBE ecosystem.
TCR for Legal Studies
Not every student we work with is preparing for an entrance examination.
Some are still in school.
For Classes 11 and 12, Legal Studies can become an important academic subject as well as an introduction to legal education.
That is why TCR's broader identity also allows us to build content and learning resources around:
Class 11 Legal Studies
Class 12 Legal Studies
Legal Studies preparation
Legal Studies notes
Legal Studies concepts
and law as an academic discipline.
One brand. Different academic rooms.
This is ultimately why the new identity works.
TCR – The Court Room
represented one room.
TCR – A Brand by NLU Alumnus
represents the institution behind the rooms.
Today, there can be:
The CLAT Room
The AILET Room
The CUET Room
The AIBE Room
The Class Room
Different academic journeys.
One TCR.
What does “best coaching” mean to us?
Students searching online don't simply search:
“coaching institute.”
They search:
Best CLAT coaching in Delhi
Best CLAT coaching in Laxmi Nagar
Best AILET coaching in Delhi
Best AILET coaching in South Delhi
Best CUET coaching in Delhi
Best CUET coaching in East Delhi
Best AIBE coaching in Delhi
Best law entrance coaching in Delhi
These are important high-intent searches because behind them is usually a student or parent trying to make an actual decision.
But we don't believe that repeatedly writing “#1” or “best” makes an institute the best.
“Best” has to be earned through the student experience.
It should mean:
good faculty; genuine academic expertise; relevant study material; meaningful practice; useful mock analysis; personalised attention; transparent guidance; accessible mentors; appropriate batch sizes; genuine student outcomes; and an environment where students can prepare seriously.
So when we build TCR for searches such as “best CLAT coaching in Delhi”, “best AILET coaching in Delhi” or “best CUET coaching in Delhi,” our objective is not to manipulate the phrase into every paragraph.
It is to make TCR genuinely relevant to the decision behind that search.
TCR in Delhi
Our physical presence is also an important part of the TCR identity.
TCR currently has centres in:
Laxmi Nagar
Serving students across East Delhi and nearby areas.
Mayur Vihar
Serving students across Mayur Vihar and surrounding East Delhi areas.
Hauz Khas
Serving students across South Delhi and nearby areas.
This allows TCR to build location-specific academic communities while maintaining the same broader brand identity.
Students searching for:
CLAT coaching in Laxmi Nagar
CLAT coaching in East Delhi
CLAT coaching in Mayur Vihar
AILET coaching in Delhi
AILET coaching in South Delhi
CUET coaching in Hauz Khas
CUET coaching in South Delhi
and related searches should be able to understand exactly which TCR centre and academic vertical is relevant to them.
Why this matters beyond Google
The name transition isn't only about traditional SEO.
It also matters when students ask AI systems questions such as:
“What is TCR coaching?”
“Is TCR The Court Room the same as TCR A Brand by NLU Alumnus?”
“Which coaching institute is TCR?”
“Does TCR offer CLAT coaching?”
“Does TCR offer CUET coaching?”
“Where does TCR have centres in Delhi?”
“Who founded TCR?”
For an AI system to answer these questions accurately, the relationship between the entities needs to be clear across the web.
Google similarly encourages businesses to establish their official website, business details and structured data so search systems can better understand the official entity and its information.
That is why we're making the relationship explicit rather than leaving students to figure it out themselves.
The digital identity we're building
Going forward, we want the web to understand TCR through a consistent entity relationship:
TCR

This is not just an SEO exercise.
It is an attempt to make our real-world identity and digital identity match.
And that's why the change matters.
We didn't change our name because we wanted to forget where we started.
We changed it because we wanted the name to leave room for where we are going.
The Court Room was our beginning.
TCR is the identity that carried us forward.
A Brand by NLU Alumnus is the identity we're building today.
And the three letters remain at the centre of it all.
TCR
Not just one room.
Not just one examination.
Not just one academic vertical.
A growing education brand built around students, educators and specialised preparation. If you knew us as TCR – The Court Room
You haven't lost us.
You've found the same TCR under its new identity.
