Static GK Is a Retention Problem, Not a Reading Problem
The illusion of fluency
The reason re-reading feels productive is that the text becomes fluent — it flows past your eyes without friction. Your brain interprets fluency as knowing. It isn't.

The 5-minute protocol
- Make 200 flashcards from your primary source. Question on one side, answer on the other. No paragraphs.
- Every morning, before opening any book, run through the deck. Say the answer out loud.
- If you got it right, push it to the next interval. If wrong, back to day 1.
- That's it. Do not add more material until you have 90% retention across all 200.
